If you are looking for a pediatrician I canNOT recommend Dr. Kevin DElli-Gatti. The last visit my wife had to wait 1 1/2 hours to just get into the room. They knew when she got there they were behind, but no one said a thing to her. When the doctor finally got to her he spent less than 5 minutes with her and had no real interest in listening to her. Fast forward... Today we only waited 30 minutes. We started telling the doctor the new med. was not working for our son. We were telling him what the teachers had said etc. He says I need it on paper or need to see his agenda. One teacher had sent us e-mails and Tina gave him the phone so he could read them. He showed no interest in reading it so Tina left to get his agenda. I start telling him I dont understand way he started our son on such a low dosage after all the other meds. at much higher ones did not work and I asked him to increase it because our son has lots of testing this month and he really needs to be able to focus. He said, I will not do it with some attitude. Why? Because his weight is to low. His weight was not to low when he was on the other meds. one at 56 mg. Weight is an issue with this kind of meds. the first level was in no way working so going to the next step is just logical. After a short back an forth he walked out on me and would not say anything else. The fact we are the parents and he did not want to listen to us and only wanted something on paper tells me he did not trust our word. We had the e-mail and the agenda with teachers notes, but since he walked out he never looked at either. We told him what the teachers said and he replies I need it on paper just did not sit well with me. So we will be going to yet another doctor. Anyone thinking we are just looking for a drug to fix a problem would be wrong. The med. is just one tool to give my son a chance to focus his mind so he can learn. To date after many years of trying many different things from diet, natural remedies, etc. we are still searching for the right combo of things to help our son.
