If you are looking for a short break with the missus or a mate and want to be able to get the rods out at the same time, take a look at Cherry Lakes in the Cotswold Water Park. Ben Wales and I spent three nights there over the weekend and were extremely impressed with the fishing, facilities and hospitality. There is a stock of around 200 fish in five acres, including about a dozen thirties and 100-plus twenties. This 18lb 9oz common was the smallest of our visit. As you know, Ben managed to break the lake record with a 37lb 2oz common, the full story of which and full pictures will be in the Christmas issue of Carp-Talk, in which we’ll be reviewing our session and Cherry Lakes as a whole.
