If you are not married yet but you are in a relationship or in courtship, and you‘ve already been silenced, it is not a good sign. You are in a courtship not just to be seen but also to be heard. Of course there must be balance and you must not resort to nagging. However, a good relationship must ensure a free atmosphere for communication. If you have been muted, with no say in your courtship, your wisdom or input is not valued, your esteem is trampled upon and you are treated shabbily, you should review the relationship and seek counsel and advice before you go blindly into it. If you are already married and your husband never listens to you, I will advise that you change your approach and attitudes and that will work wonders. Even if your husband is an unbeliever, scripture tells us there is a possibility he will make adjustment with your good attitude. See it here: 1Pet.3:1 – 2 - In like manner, you married women, be submissive to your own husbands [subordinate yourselves as being secondary to and dependent on them, and adapt yourselves to them], so that even if any do not obey the Word [of God], they may be won over not by discussion but by the [godly] lives of their wives, When they observe the pure and modest way in which you conduct yourselves, together with your reverence [for your husband; you are to feel for him all that reverence includes: to respect, defer to, revere him—to honor, esteem, appreciate, prize, and, in the human sense, to adore him, that is, to admire, praise, be devoted to, deeply love, and enjoy your husband]. I pray for you this morning that the specific wisdom you need to have a successful courtship and or marriage be granted you in Jesus name.
