If you call yourself a Christian, if you are a Christ-follower, then forgiveness is not about someone saying they are sorry or even an emotion but a command from God and thus you must take the action of forgiveness and not follow the emotion of anger, bitterness and the like that come from unforgiveness... I get it, it is hard. No one said that choices are easy.. But anything Christ has commanded us to do, he also gives us power to do it... Now before you jump up with the ooohhh Sheila you just do not know let me tell you I DO KNOW... I have had to forgive people for doing all matters of evil against me, my sister, my mother not because they ever said they were sorry, no as a matter of fact they still blame me personally for the abuse they committed, no I had to forgive because it was eating me up inside to hold on to it and well I can testify that Christ DOES give you the power to forgive when you choose to be obedient to God....
