When Nena sought protection from her government, the authorities did not want to help her. After putting in her complaint, there was a break-in into her home during the middle of the night. She was forced to leave everything and flee together with her grandson. They arrived to the Mexico-U.S. border on July 21, 2014, after traveling 4 months through Mexico.
