If you care to add commentary please read to the bottom before making any assumptions. I dont think that the aversion to eating dogs as opposed to other animals is solely arbitrary. We did not discover dogs, but rather made them. I think that it is a uniquely abhorrent crime to carefully craft something through generations of purposeful breeding to be able to communicate with us on a level no other animal can, to be our companions, to code it into their very DNA to love us, trust us, and want to please us, only to turn around and torture and kill them for the consumption of their very creators. This is in no way an attempt to justify mass farming, and I dont believe there is any possible justification for the torture of any non-human animal. However, there is a lot of vegetarian scoffing at the idea that it is different to eat dog as opposed to cows, pigs, and chickens. Once again, while the torture and murder of any animal is wrong, I believe the idea that it is different to eat dogs absolutely has merit, though I dont think many who pose this argument are thinking about it logically rather than purely on an emotional, reactionary level. Anyone care to play devils advocate or just completely disagree?
