Here are the highlights from our conversation: Our guest speaker was Gabriela Neves- a partner at Factory 360{an event marketing agency in NYC} *-Get involved through internships, the more you intern the more you will learn about what you ultimately would like to do -learn how to manage your time-prioritize and make to-do lists -research the field you want to be a part of and create a LinkedIn account **RESUME: no spelling errors, format correctly, clean, include special skills and languages, include graduation start and end date, the more experience the better-it’s all about how you spin it-highlight what you specifically did but do not BS your resume, you will be asked about your experience ***INTERVIEW: do your RESEARCH! Know about the company and the people who you are trying to work for, do not talk about salary or vacation days- you are doing this for the experience, do not be afraid to stand out-show off your personality, be yourself but remain humble, ask questions back to the interviewer-show interest, after interview send a thank you note either by email or handwritten, if you haven’t heard back after a week send a follow up email ****you got nothing to lose-go after what you want!****
