If you desire a beautiful bird and decide to get one, do your research and what kind of commitment they will need...they live as long as humans, they are extremely smart and need constant interaction with their human. They need veterinarian care and special food. They cannot be left in a cage all day just for your enjoyment to look at. They are like having a child for life. They become depressed and start hurting themselves when they experience loss, such as being their human theyve loved and now are in a rescue or new home. They are a commitment for life not a material possession for when you are finished you get rid of. Please think and research before impulse buying. Growing up, my parents tried adopting a Cockatoo.... her name was Peaches. I really loved her, she was an amazingly gentle, loving, sweet bird. We had to give her back to the rescue because she was so heart broken of her loss of her previous owner, she would take out her own feathers and she couldnt handle to change. She had just begun to flourish at the rescue after adapting so it was heartbreaking to see first hand how sensitive these birds really are. She needed to be with her human constantly to feel secure. Just please think before making an impulsive decision.
