If you dont have the attention span to read a lengthy post keep going. Here goes........... This is a thank you posting not some emo posting so dont get the wrong idea. First I would like to thank you all for the birthday and thanksgiving shout outs. (Do people still say that?). It was wicked nice of all of you to wish me happy birthday. Anyway, having my birthday on Thanksgiving once every seven years is cool but this year was a tough one. Would have liked to been able to spend it with my family, but Im 3200 miles away. So I bury myself in my work. I worked from 830 am until 11pm tending bar at the pier. We were redicliously busy which made it go by rather quickly. Some of the shifts highlights were, in no particular order, the 100 strangers in the front bar singing happy birthday to me followed by the 50 Spanish speaking strangers following that up with the Spanish version of happy birthday. Wicked cool. The lady who threw up in her 20 oz. Beer glass. The $100 bottle of Cabernet I dropped. The multiple shots bought for me. Having a thanksgiving dinner at 11:30 pm with people I had never had the pleasure of eating with prior to thanksgiving. The trip to McTeagues after dinner with said people. The random birthday gifts from strangers at the bar. Drinking way past last call. And of course the total debauchery that followed. Friday was no different. After an extremely long Thursday I went back to work Friday another year older but yet no wiser! Another crew from work insisted we go out because they hadnt celebrated my birthday with me. I wish I could say I was reluctant but we all know that would be bullshit. So after another long shift we began to raise hell all over again. Partying well into the next morning. I was lucky to have Saturday off to recover, but why recover when its your birthday weekend, right? Started off my day with breakfast. Two breakfasts to be exact. First at Mels on Geary with Ara then for locomoco at Grindz with Kat B. Stopped into an awesome Nerd toy store, really wanted the chew baca statue but for $800 it was a toy out of my price range. Lol. Met up with some customers from Thursday at the Irish bank. Then back to my Bronco for a short nap before dinner. Then early evening I had thanksgiving make up dinner with my very good friends Samuel and his lovely Fiance Erin Dunham. I was supposed to have dinner with them on Thursday but work went late so we did Saturday instead. Amazing feast of turkey mashed potatoes stuffing and all the works. A nice traditional thanksgiving dinner. Oh and pie and rye whiskey of course. Headed home for some much needed rest because I had to open the bar for Sunday football at 830 am. West coast football starts at 10am. Sunday was another very busy day at the bar and the Patriots won so all was well in the world. Followed by another trip to the watering hole with my awesome coworkers for another round of drinks. All in all a far superior weekend than I had anticipated. So if you have made it this far I would like to again say thank you to each and every one of you. Facebook allows us to keep up with one another, say whats on our minds and share life with each other. Every person who I am friends with has had some sort of impact on my life. And i can remember that moment for each and everyone of you. A moment or several in my life which I will never forget. Weather we won championships together, drank together, blazed together, partied together, trained together, were scouts together, worked together, vacationed together, or dated. I thank you for the life lessons and the memories. Here are a few pics from the weekend. Cheers to you all. Stay classy!!! A special thanks to Kristy Andres for the best voicemails I have ever heard in my life. I promise I will make it up to you!! Lol. And to you too Rebecca Gordon for always being there.
