If you ever thought that break ins happen to other people or when youre away from home, think again. I had surgery on Tuesday & since I over did it yesterday & this morning I was resting in my bed about noon today. I heard what I thought was the cat downstairs, nope cat was laying next to me. So I figured it was someone coming to visit me. Bingo, but this person wanted my things not my company. I have often wondered what I would do in this type of situation. Flight? Fight? Or Freeze? I fought! I bolted out of that bed screaming get the F out of my house!! Chased his a$$ down the stairs & out the back door. Since my doors are always locked when Im home I thought I was safe, no. Lesson: make sure windows are locked & anti theft locks engaged. One window, the kitchen, was his opportunity to gain entrance. This situation could have been so much worse & Im very grateful it wasnt but now I am also a tad freaked out. The police said sometimes they come back. The police werent able to get any prints but my neighbor has a camera that may have video taped the suspect. Will be taking this to police some time this weekend. I am babysitting my friends dog this weekend so the timing is perfect. Ive wanted a dog for awhile now so that may be my next step.I refuse to become paranoid but I also am not stupid.
