If you happen to want to recreate the awesomeness that I just had as a power pre-training breakfast: 1.5 scoops chocolate protein pancake mix from MyProtein. 1 scoop of whey protein (mine was chocolate coconut flavour). 1 pitted medjool date. 1 or 2 tsp raw cacao powder. 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon. 20g ground almonds. 1 egg. Handful of espresso coffee beans. Bit of gluten free baking soda, about half tsp. Blend that bad boy with some water or milk of your choice (I imagine itd be nice with coconut or almond milk, or channel island milk, or even chocolate coconut milk! I had none so just went for water) for a while until its smooth and theres only a few bits (therell be a couple of coffee bean or date bits left anyway which to me adds to the texture) and heat up oil in a pan on high heat (I used coconut oil). Pour the mixture in your pan and put on a very low heat for a while, then flip it when it looks cooked. Dont need to leave it on the other side for very long. Makes for THE biggest most sublimely flavoured and filling protein pancake you will ever encounter. Or as many pancakes as you like with the mix, but I just like to make one big one. I wouldve taken a picture but I ate it too quickly. It was that nice. Contains roughly 616 kcal including the oil, around 65g protein, 25g fat (6g saturated), 33g carbs, of which 19g are sugars (16g comes from the medjool date but it does make it rather yummy!) and 9g fibre. It looks bizarre and like those flavours shouldnt go but I think they DO! I had no topping but I imagine itd go well with some sort of nut butter, or honey, or banana. Or something. Just thought Id let you know...
