If you have an irrational fear of carbs, a high level of food anxiety, youre at a point where you self diagnose citing various intolerances, and you always seem like youre bloated or holding water... You have two choices. A. Start tracking your food intake. Pay attention to your protein, carbs, fat AND FIBRE intake. Make sure that youre not eating too much fibre because eating too much fibre also has negative implication just like eating too little. The reactions on each end of the scale might be different, but either way, you will encounter problems. Your macro balance might also be out (very low carbs and very high fibre)... Ew. If your problems persist, go to the doctor and get your tests regularly. Test for celiac, colitis, PCOS, IBS, IBD or other conditions that can have similar symptoms. Better to know than not, better safe than sorry. Once you know, you can take the necessary steps to improve your situation. Medication? Start following a Low FODMAP diet? Whatever is required to fix the problem. Or you could... B. Be a d*ckhead and follow a typical brotocol without actually understanding what youre doing or why youre doing it. Hold on to your food anxiety and let it define you. Avoid all bread, grains, wheat. Try to eat cleaner. Start doing ridiculous amounts of excess cardio. Avoid social gatherings. Sit in discomfort and be pissed off at the world until you accidentally stumble on a temporary solution to your problem, if you actually ever do. Then correlate that to some snake oil miracle cure wonderful superfood and bother all your friends, telling them that they need to get on the latest craze (insert NutriBullet Detox Shake here). Choose wisely. Dont be an idiot. Correlation does NOT equal causation. If you have an issue (or 10), address it properly. Dont be one of those muppets that keeps complaining about a problem, but refuses to address it correctly.
