If you have been reading the Friday ad posts for any length of time, you know the background on the sale of the Eileen Crimmin Collection. It goes without saying that the collection is a treasure trove for the researcher and collector of hydroplane and maritime history. As a boy, I had the pleasure of meeting Eileen and her brilliant photographer partner, Bob Carver. She was a gracious and special person and made me feel welcome in her presence. She was also a brilliant professional writer and photographer, and her work gave me direction and inspiration as I was writing. Perhaps that is why I am committed to find the collection a new home.
