If you have ever lost a beloved furbaby family member, I know how - TopicsExpress

If you have ever lost a beloved furbaby family member, I know how you feel. I have buried an 18 yr old,19 yr old, and 1 yr old cat, as well as a 15 yr old, 9 yr old, 10 yr old, and 1 yr old dog, a rabbit, and one baby that was on the side of the road, but I buried with my babies because he deserved that much. I told my (now 9 yr old) choc Lab, Kodi, after we buried my 15 yr old Pit, Abby, that I couldnt bury any more pieces of my heart in the back yard....it was going to be me and him, and no more. That was 4 years and 7 fosters/rescues ago, and we are still going. Kodi enjoys the company, and then the quiet, because he knows the quiet wont last long before mommie will come in with another to make some noise and play and explore. We have also added another permanent Pit to our home. She wasnt necessarily suppose to be permanent, but the alternative was unthinkable, and now she has my heart, too. Of course, all of them leave with a piece of my heart, but its so much better than knowing they could very likely have died without the little part I played. Ive heard that with each furbaby you love, a piece of your human heart is replaced with a piece of puppy heart, so eventually my heart should be more canine than human. I think that is one reason Ive become more tolerant of the hand life deals. I would like to say a huge thank you to the rescues I worked with and fostered for....Friends of Rescue, Bama Bully Rescue, and Big Fluffy Dog Rescue for every furbaby I have had the honor to share my home. You are awesome groups, and Im blessed to be a little part of your families. I thank God and good rescues for being able to know and love Lydia, Sadie, Athena, Lovely Lena, Diamond, Joe, and of course my Gypsy (that didnt go through a rescue, but one helped me with some of her original vetting). I am so blessed, and so loved by every one of them.
