If you have not had the experience of taking a massive open online - TopicsExpress

If you have not had the experience of taking a massive open online course (MOOC) it is quite an eyeopening experience. (let me recommend Novoed, Coursera, EdX )The collective brain of 20 000+ students is remarkable. Our design challenge from our instructor Leticia Britos Cavagnaro was as follows: Your challenge is to redesign the school-to-work transition. We are giving you this widely framed challenge because the design thinking approach starts with exploring the problem space. You will be focusing on the perspective of one person of your choosing who has an important stake in the school-to-work path: he/she might be a student who will soon graduate or has recently graduated and is looking for work. Or an employer seeking to hire someone. Or an educator. There are many possible stakeholders and perspectives. And, since there are thousands of people in the course working on the same challenge, it will be exciting to see what common themes emerge, and the diversity of situations around the world. I wanted to share a remarkable process that was completed by Shamik Chowdhury as his team created the IDEATE part of the solution. Note the different types of idea categories that drove the generation of solutions that would later be prototyped. slideshare.net/shamchow/design-thinking-action-lab-ideate?ref= Design Thinking Action Lab: Ideate from Shamik Chowdhury
