If you haven been acquainted with Dr. John Rabbi Duncan I would encourage you to take the time to do so. Preacher in the Free Church of Scotland, Author, missionary to the Jewish people of Hungary, and professor of Hebrew at New College in Edinburgh and lived from 1796 - 1870. One of his noteworthy ministry legacies are scores of theological aphorisms that were Biblical, balanced and thought provoking. He would have loved Facebook and Twitter. All of us are familiar with or have used C.S. Lewis famous statement of Christs claim to be the way, the truth and the life as the Son of God and Savior of sinners who put their trust in Him. According to Lewis this claim by Christ pruposely disallows the silly notion that He can be called a good teacher if it is not true. He did so by saying such a statement means that Christ was either a Liar, Lunatic or the Lord. It allows no other option. Rabbi Duncan called this years earlier a Trilemma. Here was his aphorism/early Tweet (although 40 characters to long) Christ either deceived mankind by conscious fraud, or He was Himself deluded and self-deceived, or He was Divine.
