If you havent seen Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, I definitely - TopicsExpress

If you havent seen Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, I definitely recommend it. Ive been interested in different approaches to eating and health for several years now, I became vegetarian twenty five years ago and although I ate a lot of fruit and vegetables, I also ate plenty of dairy, nuts, sugar and salt. A few years ago I was diagnosed with lymphoedema and it was recommended that I stop eating dairy and most nuts. I experimented with the nuts and discovered that I can eat macadamias, cashews, brazil and walnuts but that most of the others, especially peanuts make my limbs swell. So I kept experimenting with foods and found that sugar makes my skin flushed, increases my need to pee (like a urine infection) and leaves me feeling flat. When I gave up grains for a while (bread, rice, pasta, corn etc) I found that I no longer felt bloated and any niggling aches and pains my body had just disappeared. Why did I then go back to eating the very things that made me feel like crap? Thats what Im trying to work out on this reboot. Now, I get that this way is not for everyone. I dont believe there is any one solution for all. But I do think its important for people to keep their minds open and not be afraid to experiment. Personally, I believe that food pyramid we were taught in school is a load of shit yet many healthcare professionals will swear by it. My advice would be, do some research, try new ways and see what works for you. https://youtube/watch?v=-XDSpuMIMPs
