If you haven’t followed an organized training plan, the first of the year has been the traditional time to focus on this. I don’t know of a better way than using a training journal. By writing down a plan, week by week, with the workouts that get you there, you will activate the conscious brain. By using the journal to chart your training journey and analyze the results, you can stay under the control of this executive brain, the satisfaction and quick access of the tangible. The memory tends to erase facts that we didn’t appreciate. Two types of journals are the following: 1) notebook style, with a spiral binding and 2) journal with hints about how to set up the training and stay on track. Both are available, autographed, at jeff-galloway-e-shop.mybigcommerce/your-personal-running-journal/
