If you knew with 100% certainty that a child was raped and you - TopicsExpress

If you knew with 100% certainty that a child was raped and you also knew the identity of the rapist with 100% certainty wouldnt you fight for justice, not only on behalf of the child but to also bring the perpetrator to justice and protect other children from becoming a victim of violent crime? Why then would we remain apathetic when the perpetrators are prosecutors and continue to pay for their wrongdoing with our tax dollars? Prosecutors who wrongfully convict innocent people for crimes the state knows the defendant did not commit and further, knowingly puts residents at risk of a known rapist/murderer in fact allows the real perpetrator to avoid prosecution. Time and time again we continue to read cases of wrongful convictions that span within counties throughout various states across the nation and nothing is being done to punish prosecutors for their willful and malicious intent to harm the lives of many innocent people. Wrongful convictions are not mistakes. Prosecutors violate laws to obtain wrongful convictions, yet they are immune from civil law suits--unless they act outside their prosecutorial role as an advocate. We must stop allowing prosecutors or any government official to violate the laws and wreak havoc in our communities without punishment. We must also hold these perpetrators personally liable rather than burden taxpayers with the expense of litigation and damages that are paid out to their victims and the victims families. Our taxpayer dollars funds a system that is intended to protect us from harm and to enforce laws that are intended to deter future violations by imposing punishment. Why are prosecutors who violate the laws avoiding punishment for knowingly convicting innocent people and knowing putting the residents in our community at risk of victimization by rapists and murders they knowingly allow to avoid punishment? huffingtonpost/andrea-lyon/prosecutorial-misconduct-_b_5786626.html
