Licorice Caramels Combine: 2 cup sugar 1 1/2 c corn syrup 1 cup butter 1 can sweetened condensed milk the add: 2 tsp anise extract 1/2 tsp black food color paste Combine first four ingrediants in one pan and cook over medium heat stirring constantly to 238-245 degrees. Take off stove and add 2 tsp anise extract and 1/2 tsp black food paste. Pour in greased 9/13 pan. When well cooled cut into small squares and wrap in plastic or wax paper and twist ends shut. I didnt have the food coloring in this pan of caramels though!
