If you missed our latest Hanchey Update in Wednesdays edition of The Bridge Connection, heres the latest: On November 13, Chris finished his first round of chemotherapy at M.D. Anderson Medical Center in Houston. This past Saturday (November 23) the Hancheys returned to Ruston with doctors orders for Chris to: stay away from infection, rest, and put on some weight. Chris is feeling much better, hes in good spirits, and hes eating well--with no discomfort. He doesnt have a lot of energy, at least not yet. But...he still has his hair! If all goes according to plan, Chris will return to Houston for a December 3 appointment & bone marrow biopsy. This should show if his acute myeloid leukemia is in remission. If so, hell begin stage two of his treatment--four to six cycles of three-day chemo, beginning around December 18th. Pray specifically: • For Chris leukemia to be in remission on December 5 • For him to avoid infections (while his immune system is compromised) • For a sense of normalcy in the Hanchey household (i.e., structure and schedules for kids) • For Chris to gain weight, energy, and strength
