If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not - TopicsExpress

If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge? If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that. By definition, these laws of human resemblance apply to *everyone.* But let us all find the better part of our shared humanity in replacing revenge, wherever possible, with true justice honorably rendered. Balance established by compromise - and with a shared maximal exercise of mutually recognizable *reason,* not competitions of genuinely idiotic dogma. Well-rendered judgments, not knee-jerk prejudices. Openness to the future as it embraces us all, and not any will to attempt its violent programming by unilateral expectations and senses of exceptionalist entitlement. Steve Reichs piece speaks deeply to me today for the kind of evidence that sometimes, sadly, is unnecessarily *made* necessary to produce in the course of pursuing such inexorable common advancements: I had to, like, open the bruise up and let some of the bruise blood come out to show them. Come out to show them. Come out. To show them. Indeed.
