If you read the Constitution and other associated and supportive documents written and or referred to by the founders, you will realize the Constitution was set up as a framework for the federal government. That frameworks intention was not subordinate the people and or the states to the federal government, but to put restrictions on the federal government. To all of you members of the military, police agencies and government employees and elected officials - remember the oath you took: To support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies - foreign and domestic. This oath pledges your support to the people of the United States not the government bureaucracy. If you took that oath and there is ever a conflict needing distinction you must come down on the side of the people and the Constitution.
