If you think your covered guess again. Ever read or see Rainmaker? My son takes remicade treatments every eight weeks. I have a precertification for 12 months which is good until October. I got a bill out of the mailbox for 12800.00. The explanation was it needed to be deemed medically necessary? What?? I called the insurance company immediately and was dumbfounded. I have a copy of the precert doctors report and once you start remicade you cant stop. If you stop or delay treatment you can never start it again. The patient dies. Ok so I think that defines medically neccessary. I have spent hours on the phone everyday and it is still not resolved. I have been advised that it will take 15 business days for a reply. I have a precert which is a legal binding contract for his treatments. I get a standard bullshit line and it is unbelieveable. They dont have to deny treatment just delay it long enough and my son could die. Rainmaker omg. I have everything in writing and should never have received this letter or delay in pymt. If this had been too close to his treatment date it may have killed him. I wonder how many people got simular letters and will die because they dont have it in writing or are too sick to fight. Why is this so expensive? The insurance company is playing a deadly game. Like if this makes you angry.
