If you travel, this something to think about. A beautiful, young, vibrant woman in great shape with a smile that could light up a room died this week at 36 and her memorial services are tonight from what I am currently hospitalized for. Age, race, weight, height do not make a difference. Its a long read but it list a lot of the symptoms. Feel free to share. Hi Everyone, My name is Marvina Case. I am a mother of two beautiful little girls Jaidyn 5 and Sofia 2 and wife to my perfect match, my knight Ryan, 38 and a teacher! He treats me like a princess on a pedestal as the bible commands! I have a very happy life; in fact so happy people tell me that my happiness makes them a little sick! I walk places as my car is still in the United States. I walk an average of 10 miles a week and chase around a 2 year old and 5 year old constantly. We only eat organic foods, rarely drink, never smoke and have a diet which is 60% fruit and vegetable, 20% grains and 20% meat protein. I drink a gallon of water a day, take my vitamins and say my prayers. I am 38 years old, mentally stable, wear a size 14/16 and am 64. We moved from Punta del Este, Uruguay to Ecuador in search of a place to call home. I scheduled a month in various locations in Ecuador. We visited Guayaquil, Salinas and then our third stop, almost my last stop...Quito. Yes, I almost died! We traveled by van from Salinas to Quito, I assumed the odd feelings I was having were normal as I had been told going to high altitudes your body had to adjust. My ears burned, popped, my forehead was hot, and I had a migraine and then the chills. 9 hours later we arrived in North Quito. I felt like I had indigestion or had too much to eat on Thanksgiving. We walked into our new rental, which sat high on a hill and has three flights of stairs. Got the kids and our 14 bags and then we crashed. I woke up every 20 minutes as I had horrible gas. In fact, I do not believe I ever had gas like that in my life. I got up to take a shower as I was hot again and brush my teeth because I tasted iron. When I looked in the mirror I noticed blood in the corner of my eyes, my mouth and nose had bleed and I had crusted hanging clots. My ear were filled with what I thought was wax but it was blood. I showered quickly and cleaned up as I looked like a new Walker from The Walking Dead. My head hurt so much, but I just thought it’s just a little Altitude Sickness… I had a dry cough and I thought it’s just the pollution. My face, hands and feet were swollen and I blamed it on PMS. I was very tired so I slept most of the day. My cough is getting worse, nose bleeds, head ache, chest burning and excessive gas. I couldn’t even watch Dora with the girls without nodding off. I had no appetite and I really felt like a group of thugs beat me up. My left leg is asleep or burning continuously, like pins and needles being stuck in it at random. Back in bed I go but I can’t sleep at all now. It’s now day three and I know something is wrong. Vomiting, Shortness of breath and there was not enough aspirin and antihistamine to kill my headache or help with the bloating feeling. I drink some herbal tea and eat a 90% lean beef, because I am shaking and it must have had MSG in it which causes my throat to enclose and I’m spitting up this pink yogurt smooth looking substance. I’m making a doctor’s appointment for tomorrow. I wake up and my entire body is puffy, I can’t talk and I am barely breathing. It took me 20 minutes to put on clothes and I had to walk up the 2 flights of stairs to ground level, but I couldn’t do it. I was crying and had to have help. My leg felt like a 100 Charlie horses at once my chest was on fire and I was starting to black out. By the time the taxi got me to Hospital Metropolitano I was crying, barley able to walk and in the worse pain I have ever felt which includes than having hot brake fluid burn 30% of my body and skidding on asphalt on my face. They took me in and saved my life, I had high altitude pulmonary edema, blood clots in my left leg and pneumonia. My perfect little was almost ended in my 30’s. I am still in the hospital and hope to leave high altitudes forever within 24 hours of them letting me out.
