Mike is a Rwandan male student entering 12th grade. He is a mission case student in need of a home. His family are Tutsi. His Grandfather, along with many cousins were killed in the Rwandan massacre. His parents were both refugees for 3 years and were released in 1996. They moved to Kigali. His parents have little money and sell everything of value for Mike to be well educated. Having Mike come to America is a dream come true for him and his family. What a great thing our Horizon community is able to give to him this year. Mike has studied at an International Christian school in Rwanda for the first three years of high school. His English is strong and he is open to growing in Christ while studying at Horizon. He is also an athlete and would do well in a home with boys who participate in athletics at Horizon or a family who lives close to the school. He arrives August 29th!
