If your main objective is to constantly legalize treats within any given set of dietary guidelines then its not the guidelines that may or may not be working for you. But rather your mindset and relationship with food. The constant cheat and treat day mentality takes away the ownership of our food choices. It becomes about being good, bad, and other peoples approval. It perpetuates shamed based eating behaviors rather than just enjoying the flavor, the environment or presence of company with whom youre eating while our body is in a parasympathetic state (without stress, anxiousness). Whether someone else judges what you eat is their business, not yours. Asking someone not to judge or proclaim that youre eating _____ is your insecurity and judgment on yourself. Our self destructive eating patterns continue when we stop being curiously caring about ourselves. - Just a little excerpt from a little project Ill be bringing to the blog about bridging the physiological/ psychological/emotional intelligence response in food relationship. Your mental health/ connection with the food is just as important as what youre eating is.
