If youre in the central Champlain Valley or Chittenden County in VT, you might be curious where that localized coating of snow came from this morning. It was actually Lake Champlain-effect snow. As the loop plays, you can see how the snow developed over the lake and initially pushed southward under north winds. However as the low level winds turned eastward (nightly drainage flow) as the night progressed, the band shifted westward. Then as the drainage flow ended and the winds turned more westerly in the morning hours, the snow band shifted further eastward.
