If youre not sitting down, you should before you read this.... Weve learned a lot about bone marrow in the last couple of days. For example, they couldve harvested 2 bags but hardly gotten any cells. They also couldve harvested only a half a bag and gotten LOTS of cells. So, the cells are the important thing, not the quantity. Upon final review of Eriks harvest this morning, the doctor said to the transplant nurse, that Seth received the cream of the crop! He said that THIS is the marrow hed choose all the time! He said we had more than double the amount of cells than were NEEDED. He said not only was Erik a 10 out of 10 sibling match, but he had the best marrow he couldve received. WOW!!!!!!!!!! What a glorious unfolding!!!!!!!!
