If youre observant, you must have realised that the main source of distraction in our exam halls today are the invigilators. They walk around like Adolf hitler, yelling at anything and making loud calls like heroes who have found our missing Chibok girls. Many students have become used to this, its a shame. An exam hall is supposed to be quiet, your concentration is meant to be kept unshaken since youre dealing with a logical problem. Some invigilators go as far as cracking jokes and initiating chats with students who are rather foolish because these men dont pity you, theyll grab your paper once time is up. They had distracted you with noise and comedy and now youre paying for it. A lot of times I wish Invigilation was handed to the Blue boys (FUT Security) they discreetly check your ID Card without creating drama, then go back to their patrol. Have you ever been supervised by Mechanical Engineering Lecturers? Oh youll hate it, especially when its at the Maracana (Big LT2 in GK). The pack of invigilators swarm your attention, each giving his own instruction. One telling you to eat Akara, the other asking you not no. Below is a little scenario; Midway through the Exam when youre battling with question NO 2, he yells and points towards your direction and ask the guy in green to stand up. Youre also wearing green, in fact a lot of you are, so whos he talking to? Youre left perplexed wondering whats going on, as he walks toward your side of the hall. He passes your seat and moves on to the guy sitting 3 rows behind you. Why did you turn your neck he beckons, you give a sigh of relief as you slouch and bend over your paper again only to discover that you have misplaced some information in your head, its there but you cant find it and youll need to restart from the top to figure it out. It happened to everyone around all because someone turned his neck, oh the guy is still standing and Mr Invigilator is still yelling, he does not realise he is causing more harm than the student. Dear Invigilator, please shut the hell up!!!
