If youre still arguing that the Walmart receipt proves nothing about Jodis guilt or innocence, you only need to ask yourself how she purchased an extra 2 gallons of gas in Salt Lake City with no receptacle to hold it. You only need to ask why she has 3 gas transactions before she even leaves California that suggest a partial fill up of her tank, and the filling up of 2 5-gallon cans and topping off that 3rd. No matter how you want to spin the receipt issue and discredit Walmarts employee who did her due diligence when searching for that return, you cant deny that Jodi needed that 3rd gas can and used that gas can. You cant make up stories about phantom moneyless people hanging out in Salt Lake City at 3 in the morning bumming gas from pretty girls. You cant suggest she spilled 2 gallons of gas on the ground. You cant accuse the gas station manager of having badly calibrated gas pumps. If were talking 2 ounces of gas, I could see spillage or wrongly calibrated pumps. Were not talking about 2 ounces though, were talking about over 256 ounces. With as fastidious as Nurmi is, do you believe for one moment that he didnt think to look through those transactions himself? With as fastidious as Nurmi is, you have to ask yourself why he didnt ask one question of the witness? Not one question to discredit her or raise doubt? Its not because he was lazy, its because that witness was very much damaging to the case because he knew Jodi had lied and there was never a return and he didnt want to drive that point home by continuing to question a witness who would continue to build a solid case against his client. The fact youre not convinced by the over-whelming evidence is not indicative of other peoples wrongdoing, but moreso your lack of critical thinking skills. True, we must view Jodi as innocent until all evidence is in and then decide her guilt or true innocence based on that, but at one point you have to tell yourself that common sense and evidence point to her guilt moreso than her innocence. Otherwise youre just being disingenuous.
