Igbinedion’s daughter promises pragmatic representation of Ovia Last Saturday, the people of Iguobazuwa, the administrative headquarters of Ovia South West Local Government Council of Edo State, defied a heavy downpour and trooped out in their thousands to express their solidarity with Barrister Gabriella Omosede Igbinedion as she gets set for the journey to the Federal House of Representatives in 2015. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faithful was welcomed to the campaign ground by people of the area most of whom abandoned their business concerns to accord the aspirant a memorable welcome amid dancing and singing. Among the elders of the party on hand to endorse her candidature was the state deputy chairman of the party, Christopher Adesotu. Also on hand to offer a word of encouragement to the aspirant and to campaign for her were Chief Clement Edo-Osagie, Chief Edigin and a host of others. While speaking, Omosede assured the people of the constituency that her ambition to represent them at the National Assembly was hinged on her desire to bring development to their doorstep. She said that she has mapped out plans to ensure that children of school age in the area enjoy the full benefits of free education. She promised that knowing that the community is agrarian she would support the farmers with modern farm tools to ease their business. She also assured the fishermen that she would ensure that the condition in which they operate is made conducive, adding that she will be pragmatic in her approach to the issue of empowerment of the needy. On the poor state of some of the roads in the council area, she assured the people that on been elected early next year she would immediately set in motion the process of ensuring that the federal government put the roads in order.
