Iggy Azalea: Newcomer Has Most American Music Award Noms! Its been three days since the nominees for this years American Music Awards were announced Oct. 13. And there is still a buzz in the music world about newcomer of the year, Iggy Azalea, racking up the most nominations: six. Right behind her are established stars Katy Perry, Pharrell and John Legend, each earning five nominations. Azalea - the Fancy singer - is one of the biggest breakout stars of 2014, and her night at the ceremony may prove to be a great one. The rapper/singer is up for Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, and several specialized categories, which interestingly call her a pop/rock artist, but put her album in the rap/hip-hop slot. Up for Artist of the Year at the fan-voted awards show is Azalea, Legend, Perry, Lorde, Pharrell, Beyonce, Luke Bryan, Eminem, Imagine Dragons and One Direction. Boom Clap singer Charli XCX will perform at the 2014 AMAs. The 42nd annual American Music Awards will be broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A on November 23.
