Ignorance and Pride on display for all the world to see……. A section of this linked YouTube video is important for at least two reasons. (In the interest of fairness, the entire 21-minute video given, but the crucial segment comes at 9:20 and runs for 30 seconds to10:10.) youtube/watch?v=_oeHGUEI1lk Important Observations: #1 -- Jimmy Allen has no clue about the difference between “by” and “through.” And he thus has no clue what he’s arguing against when he says “OK, … I’ll take it ‘through’.” (i.e. “What’s the difference?”) #2 -- But more troubling is how the crowd reacts to his ignorant remark. My wife was there in the audience. She had prayerfully brought a neighbor to this debate as an extension of a neighborhood Bible study. She wanted to crawl under her chair when the laughter and cheering occurred at this -- and too many -- other points. The majority of the audience seemed to act like they were at a football game, as if trying to win some sporting event rather than seeking God’s sobering truth. Don’t want to “overgeneralize”, but this second point is a glaring problem with many of “our” debates (and even many discussions on FB, including some of my own.)
