Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiits THURSDAY! The Thunder God demands tribute! Or, you know, I could just follow on with Pimp-Up-A-NOVA-Sponsor-Day like I was supposed to at noon...yeah, sorry, my newborn son needed comforting and the world went all fuzzy after that until SOMEONE *cough* got on me about this post. No, it wasnt the people Im about to talk up. For serious, though, these guys are...wow. I have never been upset at anything these guys provided. Not a single product, and I feel like I own half the range (prolly not). More importantly, the owner? The owner is not just a huge friend to NOVA Open and the wargaming community in general, hes also someone who actively seeks out teaching opportunities. Many times at NOVA Open 13 I heard him say that answering emails and teaching were some of the best parts of the hobby for him. Guess which company Im on about. Okay, dont guess. Its Secret Weapon Miniatures.(secretweaponminiatures) Mister Justin is WOW. As stated, he will actively seek out people who need/want wargaming/painting advice and give it. The man even convinced me that a high-powered hunting rifle was NOT the most effective manner of simulating cannon holes in the busted-up old Land Raiders I got off ebay. Hes patient and experienced, both with color theory and the application to models in general. Also, good sense of humor. SWM is WOW. Ive gone through and used every form of wash Ive found (and thats a lot) and theirs is the only one I consistently use, in layers, that doesnt wash out the details or look, frankly, stupid and wet. The tank is cool. The skulls are cooler. Realistic water? Best game in town. Dont feel like smushing up your own glass for snow effects? BOOM. They got you COVERED. And ERMAGEHRD do they have an awesome range of custom bases. Finely molded, high quality, and, I cannot state this enough, COMPLETELY game friendly. Ive honestly found their bases more stable than the standard black blocks we get from...other..panies. Good, solid weight on the bottom, helps keep your blob of plastic/metal dudesmen from falling over whilst cowering in terrain. Seriously. I truly consider this stuff best on the market, even from a gameplay POV. The entire product line is outstanding, but one of the most innovative (well, I think so anyway) things theyve done is create an entire line of pigments; sand, dirt, and other weathering effects to be used to simulate rust and weather effects on vehicles. I know other companies have done much the same, but, seriously...does anyone else have THIRTY. SEVEN. Unique colors to mix and match? Oh, and last but not least: bag o skulls. Really. Does more need saying? No. Go check em out. They generally always have some kind of sale on, on something or another. See yall next week. Well, at least with this gimmick, I DO have more posts planned this week, honest. Just, you know...FIRST NEWBORN SON WHAT IS THIS I DONT EVEN Kinda ironic that Mister Justin named one of his washes Baby Poop. --JT
