If the candidate withdraws the party can substitute him or her with another nominee. The game plan in APC is that Uche Nwosus name will be submitted as nominated. Once Rochas looses the Abuja race, Uche will withdraw and be substituted with Rochas name. Its constitutional and I think the last date for withdrawal and substitution is December 25. Many small parties submit dummy names and wait for those who lost out in big parties to come to them. Naturally if Rochas submits a name he cant control the person will refuse to withdraw and may be elected by default. Thats why he choose his son.
