Governor Ibikunle Amosun is a very disturbed man these days. This is because Three (3) of his commissioners have resigned but have been begged to stay, they are Information, Commerce & Industry and Health Commissioners, these three and many others including the DCOS are being persuaded to stay so that the government does not collapse. Soyinka who holds the health portfolio was overheard telling some friends how he can no longer afford to pay his children school fees which he could easily afford to pay before he became a Commissioner. This is the general opinion of most commissioners in the cabinet, with a group of commissioners who refer to themselves as G7 complaining that the Governor lies a lot and isnt telling the truth about the situation in the state especially on the issue of the state finances, as it is now ever so glaring that the state has been run aground. The problem within the state has not spared the SIA group which is already divided into 4 groups namely; 1. Abidoye group 2. Tajudeen Bello group 3. Derin Adebiyi group 4. floating SIACO people. Lately, the governors body language according to reliable sources shows he is demoralised by the day. With a new group of Yoruba leaders emerging through the conference, all whose number one agenda is to reduce Tinubus power in the south west with consensus already agreed and led by Alani Akinrinade and with strong feelers pointing to a possible loss for the APC in Ekiti State, the die seems cast for Jagaban Borgu whom until this year, was a staunch Amosun supporter. With Asiwaju Tinubu also facing pressure from the Northern caucus of the APC loyal to Buhari, He has is own plate full with various battles ahead and has handed Ogun State solely in the hands of Aremo Olusegun Osoba. It is expected that the PDP may reclaim Ekiti State with Afenifere chieftain, Prince Adeyeye likely to become the consensus candidate of the party and the next civilian governor of Ekiti State. President Jonathan had preferred Olubolade for Governor in Ekiti but he has had to succumb to the choice of the majority as it is believed Adeyeye will win a landslide in Ekiti State. The camp of Aremo Olusegun Osoba are now busy shopping for a governorship candidate having totally rejected Amosun. In the new permutation, Senators Kaka and Odunsi will be returned to contest under the party ticket during the general election but Senator Obadara is now likely to be replaced by the man whose gubernatorial posters were seen around Abeokuta and environs a few weeks ago, the person of Remi Bakare. There are strong indications that Hon. Biodun Akinlade will return to APC and be handed a return to the HoR unopposed with a promise to be made the gubernatorial candidate of the party in 2019. The Osoba group are now looking at possible candidates for the top job, names of those mentioned so far are Fola Adeola, Hon. Kunle Adeyemi and surprisingly, Hon. Dimeji Bankole who has been linked to several other parties but who is yet to leave the PDP. It is clear that whoever makes it would only serve a single term and the preference is for someone from Ake. Our correspondent interviewed a high ranking member of the Osoba caucus on why Governor Amosuns name failed to appear in all their scheming for which the following reasons were adduced, they are: 1. It was realized that ACN lost 15 out of 20 local governments in the last local government election in Ogun state but for the manipulation of results by the Alhaja Ogunfemi led OGSIEC. This the party considered too poor especially only after it had defeated the PDP and PPN at the general elections. 2. Age falsification 3. Certificate falsification (proof handed to Ilese News Extra) 4. Several financial scandals proven beyond reasonable doubt. 5. Easy target for opposition as the people wont vote him. 6. The Ijebus who wield a total of 9 local goverments have rejected him for maltreating Prince Segun Adesegun their son and deputy governor, also for attempting to scrap TASUED and being generally anti-Ijebu. It is suggested that apart from the Oba of Imoru, all Obas in Ijebu are with the AMG brigade. 7. He is said not to be trustworthy as there is nobody of strong standing in the society that is ready to stand as surety for him, not even Obasanjo who is hiding under the pretext of being a PDP member and unable to act as guarantor to a member of the APC. 8. Inability to play by the rules and directives of the national party. He is always in a hurry to monopolise and twist instructions that are not in his favour by feeding lies to his supporters. 9. Violent disposition to opposing views and botched plot to assassinate Senator Obadara and other key Ogun State APC Chieftains. 10. Total loss of majority in the State House of Assembly leading to his inability to have a loan request of N19bn passed. Ilese News Extra has also learnt that very soon, the EFCC will be coming to Ogun state to raid and arrest state officials especially local government chairmen who have been aiding and abetting the Governor. On the list of those to be arrested are a few commissioners who have also been helping to inflate contracts and launder money abroad. Ilese News Extra has it on good authority that some people in his government have already confessed in secret to the EFCC, including a recently appointed Special Adviser who had been on surveillance watch and who had used his business links in the UK as conduit to help ferry money abroad. The EFCC are aware of Governor Amosuns plans to flee the country after losing at the polls next year but Ilese News Extra is confident with what we have seen on ground that it is a near impossible task for the governor giving that he is wanted by the SSS and the Police for attempted assassination, this is besides the indicting report over the Armoured Personnel Carrier fraud involving him and his former friend. These agencies are ready to close in on him immediately he is stripped from immunity after he must have lost the 2015 gubernatorial election.
