Ill be honest Im not a football fan but Ill always keep an eye out for international matches that England play in. Relaxing after dinner I persuaded my fiancée (well compromised) that Id watch the first half and she would put The Fugitive on at 10. So there I was watching the home nations playing Germany. I expected Germany to play well as they had been impressive during the group stages and quarters. BUT Ive always been a fan of S American football, the flare, the raw talent and the passion. I can honestly say that I have never seen a home team look so out of sorts without one key player. Brazil were in one word Woeful, utterly beyond belief. After the first German goal I thought, right lets see Brazil comeback, fight and win a closely fought battle. The comeback never came. They simply didnt even turn up. Germany were absolutely incredible and made the Brazilians look like a pissed Sunday league team. I was glad I watched the game as I spent most of it with my mouth open shaking my head in disbelief. Oh to have been in Berlin last night! Just imagine the atmosphere! Rio would have been like a ghost town and this morning will have a hangover from what was potentially the worst 90 mins a Brazilian team have ever been involved in. I salute Germany and hope they bring the World Cup back once again to Europe!
