Not only this section 1411 tax but the other hidden taxes associated with phaseouts at higher income levels. Most disturbing to me is the Marriage Penalty that is very evident here. I strongly stand against this penalty that I feel undermines families and promotes instability for our nation through providing a motivator not to get married or to divorce. As crazy as it sounds, tax results do drive personal choices. Ultimately, those that abide in marriage tradition, religious or otherwise, they will pay the penalty for doing so!
