Ill try to explain myself best I can and take the criticism to - TopicsExpress

Ill try to explain myself best I can and take the criticism to follow. I know I am one of the few people on my facebook feed who is totally, absolutely, %100 ecstatic that I have a brand new, surprise U2 album sitting in my iTunes. First, because I am a U2 fan. (Let the mocking begin!) But secondly, because, finally, a band (a big band) has accepted the absolute truth that they will never make money from selling an album ever again. We can argue all day about if its right or wrong, or whos fault it is, or how it happened, BUT you can not erase the fact of it. So one of the biggest bands in the world just GAVE you an album. If you like it, go see them in concert, buy a shirt, or if youre a dinosaur like me buy the CD or vinyl when it comes out. But we can now stop trying to fix the music industry and start trying to fix music. The music is now free. Now musicians can start figuring out how to move forward. What can they sustain themselves with? What will we as consumers buy? Where do we go from here? It may not be your favorite band, but its still a brilliant move, and Im interested to see who will get it.
