Illusion – The Genesis missiondevelopment/2013/06/illusion-genesis/ Yesterday’s episode It’s All Love concludes the novel Illusion. It was so much fun that I’ll start publishing the next one, The Greatest Game, in serial episodes. More on that below. Illusion has been rewritten since the first episode was published in October 2012, and it is currently being rewritten again. Self-publishing eBooks makes that possible. The idea for Illusion occurred to me while walking around Santa Monica on Sunday afternoons. I thought, “How would it work if I based a book on a story I know, but changed the main character significantly—make him a good guy instead of how he was?” The location was automatic. Later, a friend of mine made a major contribution. He said something like, “You don’t have to make up anything. Just tell the truth.” This became the book’s theme. It’s too long to explain. You’ll just have to read it. The Greatest Game is essentially a sequel to Illusion. At least it involves many of the same characters and it takes place a few months later—right around now. It revolves around a week in the life of detective Charlotte Coil. She’s hit with an avalanche of challenges as several cases converge.
