Im a Libertarian because all throughout history examples of Libertarian societies (Formally called Republics, IE: Rome, and United States of America) have proven to be the most prosperous and free. This is of course until their inhabitants became too comfortable and forgot that the essence of liberty is proper limitation of government, and slipped into Democracy. Ultimately this leads to Socialism when the public realizes they can vote government force on other members of the public to pay for what they want, creating a huge welfare system and powerful military state which leaves a country bankrupt and subject to tyranny under a dictatorship. _____________________________________________________ *Sept. 17, 1787 At the close of the Constitutional Convention, a woman cries out: Mr. Franklin!
