Im a Muslim feminist ... I believe that every Muslim woman should have the right to practice her faith EXACTLY AS Allah subhanawataala commanded her. I will therefore fight for their rights and will not be content with anything less than that. I am also against oppression BY Muslim men, against Muslim women, under any circumstance. I believe that, just as the female Sahaba had a means of seeking Islamic education and necessary education to build the Islamic state up, we need to provide these same facilities for our women as well. Having said that, I decline the notion of the western feminism and the garbage associated to it. Western feminism works toward trying to fix part of a system, when the whole system is in fact broken. I also stand by the fact that Allah subhanawataala gave women particular duties that no man can replace, and gave man particular duties that no woman should replace. The role of leadership belongs to the man, and the role of nurturing and raising the young belongs to the woman. A very brief example of this is the ability of a woman to breastfeed and bear extreme patience in childbirth and raising of children, while the man can often bear the pressure of an entire state or city. Therefore, I am not really a Muslim feminist... I am a Muslim, content with no other system than Islam.
