Im a Vietnam-era U.S. Navy veteran, currently rated as 80% service-connected disabled. I use the V.A. medical system exclusively for all of my medical care. Allegedly, I use the crown jewel of the V.A. medical system--the new V.A. hospital in N. Las Vegas. I wont go into all of my medical conditions, but will only enumerate one of many. For over 8 months, I have been awaiting diagnosis and treatment of some painful problems in my right shoulder and upper arm. Approximately 6 months ago, my primary care physician ordered an MRI. I have been scheduled for that MRI 3 different times. Each time theyve changed it, I had to reschedule an appointment with ortho which was to follow the MRI. Most recently, my MRI was rescheduled a fourth time, supposedly now to take place next Thursday, July 31. I had an appointment scheduled with ortho for July 30. When I called ortho to advise them my MRI had once again been re scheduled for the day after my ortho appointment was now scheduled, they told me not to reschedule the follow up ortho appointment, because if I did they wouldnt be able to see me before mid-September. So I will now be going to an ortho appointment on Wednesday, July 30, which was supposed to be scheduled for after my MRI, which is now scheduled for Thursday, July 31. This is a complete waste of both my time, and the time of the ortho diagnostician I will be seeing--but, sadly, this is typical of the b.s. you have to go through here in Las Vegas, home of the newest V.A. hospital in the entire V.A. system.
