Im a big fan of low-carb (at at least lower-carb) diets for most - TopicsExpress

Im a big fan of low-carb (at at least lower-carb) diets for most people that are looking to lose weight and get healthier. But there are definitely exceptions where people need a higher amount of carbs to fuel their active lifestyles (myself included from time to time). This is a pretty good article that looks at some of the myths associated with low-carb dogma and provides some good science to back it up. Topics discussed and countered are: 1. Low-carb is the best diet for everyone 2. Carbs are inherently fattening 3. Carrots, fruits and potatoes are unhealthy because of the carbs 4. A low-carb diet should always be ketogenic 5. All carbohydrates are sugar 6. It is impossible to gain weight on a low-carb diet 7. Drinking butter and coconut oil is a good idea (this one is a bit poorly done) 8. Calories dont matter 9. Fiber is mostly irrelevant to human health 10. If low-carb cures disease, that must mean that the carbs caused it in the first place. Always look from both sides of the story :) authoritynutrition/10-myths-within-the-low-carb-community/
