Im a bit annoyed at the predictability of the social media public reactions to the Ferguson events. Minorities and liberal whites are overwhelmingly appalled and demand justice. While most other white people that are talking about it have summed it up to some version of these 2 points. Dont mess with the police, and you will never have problems. AKA He had it coming. And,Only a bunch of ignorant animals would loot and riot in their own community. As if riots are anything new or unique to America. Seen any news footage of the Middle East in the last 40 years? Pointing out that rioting or looting is stupid as hell does not make you observant or smart. It just sounds like you just took a boat ride with Captain Obvious. Calling groups of black people animals isnt not even thinly veiled racism. Its blatant. I am not appalled, or surprised. This is the system we have and I expected this. Nor do I go the other way and make excuses why killing unarmed people is ok. Frankly, without seeing a video, all we have is a composite of the worst evidence available: eye witness. I do know our police and justice system has flaws. I know urban black communities can rally around events like these as subterfuge to avoid dealing with other internal issues about the evolution or devolution of black American culture depending how you see it. For a change, try to be empathetic. Step outside of your own world view. Try objectivism and stopping rooting for teams. Stop being so predictable based solely on your demographic.
