Im a little late to the game but Ive been listening to Benji a lot lately and Im starting to think its one of the best things Kozelek has done yet. The stories told in the songs have a warm sense of humanness to them, like someone else out there feels similar to the way you do day to day and theyve got their vices too. Like we all have our idiosyncratic shit we live and deal with every day, but were all trying to manage the best we can (at least I like to hope that we are). Idk, theyre brutally honest and hard to hear but sometimes they have touches of humor too. I really love it. This is one of my favs from it.
