Im a little worried about one of my rats. My hairless dumbo girl had babies several weeks ago. All the babies survived and are still thriving. However, I am noticing more and more each day that she is losing weight. She has a hunched back and I can literally see almost every bone in her body. I know that at this point, she doesnt have much longer. No signs of infection whatsoever, but I am wondering if I need to up the protein by a ton until I can get her to a vet? I know hairless rats have a hard time nursing, so I am wondering if the 2 are related. I had been giving her soft cat food (suggested by a vet tech) and lots of other things, like regular wheat cereal (like the frosted mini wheats, but not the frosted ones - just regular). She IS eating some at least, I saw her eating some of the food last night. Are there some foods I can get in her to plump her back up really quickly until I can take her somewhere? She wont really let me even touch her or get her out or I would have taken a picture. :(
