Im a war-game player, and have been since i was 7 years old. Ive won tournaments against some of the brightest minds in the military and competitive circuits. But Im not perfect. However, I wanted to shed some light on something. If the Russia, Crimea situation were a board game and I was confronted with it. I would see Putins move as a direct indication that he is planning on more expansion. Also I wouldnt think there was anything wrong with it. Its his prerogative. Sucks for the territories involved. But getting involved myself would only leave me trailing his strategy. Discussing moves hes already made is the only way to guarantee Im not prepared for whats next. Id do things differently. Sure Id enter discussions about it. But unless I was willing to move military might in to back up my arguments then theyre already lost. And I wouldnt be willing to do that. Id be using his move as a propaganda machine. Signing up potential targets to my own alliance in preparation. That way if he does take an aggressive move against them I know where I stand 100% and can retaliate accordingly. Im not saying the government should do this as obviously there are factors involved that Im not aware of. And Im not even saying this is the right choice. Im simply sharing what I would do if this was a board game I was playing in.
