Im about to be a single momma (totally fine, dont hate) that has worked as a waitress all year. My maternity EI is substantially less that welfare as I make less than minimum wage, but I am unable to claim welfare if I am eligible for EI. Tips for the waitresses out there, if you plan on getting pregnant get a better job lol bullshit that the government can tax you on your tips, but wont let you file them as a source as income for any benefits you may receive bringing up a child in its first year or life. Because of this I plan on going back to work as soon as possible to my baby boy and I can have a real go at life.
